Did you know that May is Stroke Prevention Awareness Month? We use the letters F.A.S.T to identify the signs and symptoms of a stroke that you might witness in a loved one and save their life!

F: Face drooping – Is one side of their smile uneven or lopsided?

A: Arm weakness –  Is one arm weak or numb?

S: Speech – Is there speech slurred or hard to understand?

T: Time – It is time to call 911 if you are witnessing any of these signs or symptoms.

There are a few other things you can look out for like trouble with vision, sudden confusion, trouble walking or moving properly, or a severe headache. If you or a loved one are experiencing any of these or you witness anyone experiencing these symptoms make sure and get them the medical help that they need. We always want to be aware of those we love and by using the FAST method we can quickly identify and possibly save someone’s life.
